Three Facial-Hair Removal Recipes You Can Make at Home

Posted on

Facial hair is something that many women don't like to talk about, but it's not at all uncommon for woman to have facial hair. Often, women who have medical conditions that cause hormone imbalances wind up with coarse, dark facial hair. Certain medications can also cause this condition. If you're a woman who is dealing with unwanted facial hair for whatever reason, removing the hair may be easier than you think. Check out a few all-natural recipes that you can make it home that will remove the hair without irritating the skin on your face.

Gelatin Peel

One very simple recipe that will remove your unwanted facial hair and also leave your skin feeling smooth and clean uses gelatin as its main ingredient. Simply mix together a tablespoon of unflavored gelatin with two or three tablespoons of milk and a few drops of lemon juice or lavender essential oil.

Heat the mixture for about 15 seconds, and let it cool until it's at a temperature that you can comfortably apply to your face. When you spread the mask on your face, make sure to keep it off of your eyebrows and eyelashes. Let the mixture dry on your face for about 15 minutes – you'll feel your skin tightening a bit as it dries. Once it's dry, peel off the mask and wash your face with warm water. Not only will this recipe remove hair, it will also remove blackheads and help unclog your pores.

Papaya Pack

Papaya is another natural ingredient that can help remove unwanted hair from your face gently. As a matter of fact, many hair-removal creams contain an enzyme called papin that is found in papayas.

You can make a hair-removal paste at home by crushing raw papaya pieces into a paste and adding some wild turmeric. Turmeric has antibacterial properties that will help prevent skin infections. If you like, add some aloe vera pulp and wheat germ to the mixture; these ingredients will hydrate and refresh your skin, giving it a healthy glow and helping the skin remain smooth and soft. Just apply the paste to your skin, allow it to dry, and then scrub the mixture off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. Not only will this remove the hair from your face, but using this papaya pack regularly will also help discourage hair growth in the affected area in the first place.

Potato and Lentil Mask

If you're fair skinned and want to remove hair and even out your complexion, the potato and lentil mask might be the right facial hair–removal recipe for you. Potatoes have bleaching properties, and lentils are an effective depilatory agent.

Start by soaking yellow lentils in a bowl overnight. The next day, peel a potato and crush it to extract the potato juice. Then remove the lentils from the water and grind them into a paste. Add the potato juice to the lentil paste, and stir in a tablespoon of honey and four tablespoons of fresh lemon juice. Once the mixture is complete, apply it to your face and allow it to dry for 20 to 30 minutes. Finally, remove the paste by rubbing your fingers over it. As you rub, the lentils will pull the unwanted hair away from your face.

These natural remedies are not only great for hair removal for women, they're rejuvenating for your skin as well. However, if you have particularly stubborn hair growth that doesn't respond to natural remedies, a cosmetic procedure, like laser hair removal, may give you the result that you're looking for.
